Meet our puppies
Maggie, Cleo, Sophie
Hugo, Jasper, Oscar and Angus

(The list reminds me of the Broderick nontuplets born in Sydney in 1971 when I was a kid living in Canberra, ACT)

Lucy and Harry's seven Labrador Retriever puppies were born on Thursday.
There are 3 females and 4 males. Here are the much anticipated photographs.
Many thanks must go to Liz and Murray at

Brookton Hounds

(usually specialising in all things 'greyhound' & where
"love puppies" like ours are unheard of!)

The hungry hound who resembles her father - she loves food!

They are having a wonderful time!

Harry's birthday

Saturday, April 3, 2010

I want a photo of you in honour of your birthday, please Harry.
You want what, Mama?

Do I HAVE to?

"This is how you do it, Harry," said Lucy.

How about this for a pose, Mama?

"Get on with it, Dipstick!" hissed Gypsy.

OK, OK ... let me sit down and pose properly...

Hello world. I'm two today!

Time Out

Friday, February 12, 2010

These sweet little puppies are just tuckered out.
They have been hard at play all day.
Or, if they are like my two,
Mama has used her big voice
so they have run for cover. LOL

(not puppies any more)

I told you ages ago that resistance was useless & you agreed.
A day of stitching, at last!
The MOTH is away so I took a day out to get the project going.

Harry at 6 Months

Friday, October 3, 2008

Remember this little cutie?

This is Harry at 7 weeks.

This is Harry today.

He's done gone grown up!
Things to know about Harry

1. He's a Labrador, so he likes food.

2. He enjoys exercise, so he wants more food.

3. He sleeps in the kennel each night with Lucy, so he dreams of food.

4. He knows that 5am is time to wake up, so he expects food for breakfast.

5. He loved puppy pre-school because someone was always giving him food.

6. He continues to be Mama's good boy, so that he can get more food rewards.

7. He's is a skinny male, so he can afford more food.

8. He's learning how to swim - anything to get food!

9. Harry's real name is Henry Bullwinkle Davies - he eats to forget.

10. Harry simply likes to eat.

And, for those of you who don't follow my Daily Bliss site , here's a picture of Lucy.
My wee girl is 17 months old & a whopping, muscular 32kg.

We walk / run miles every day.

Lucy had a heart attack last weekend after she was bitten by a paralysis tick, but she's well again, just not allowed to exercise for a few weeks. She's also restricted with her diet so that she doesn't gain weight while she's not exercising.

Life is tough for a labrador on a diet, believe me!

LOL. I think it's also killing her to watch me and Harry as we leave for our morning walks without her.

Thoreau in Practice

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Harry is the 'Fearless Freddie' type of pooch. He's into everything and anything, going confidently in the direction of any whim, er ... dream. Today it was ' 1-2-3 jump off the metre high garden wall & bugger-the-consequences!!!' He survived.

My darling Lucy is living a 'mini me' or 'me and my shadow' scenario. She has the look like of a new mother ... kinda nuts. It's Harry, Harry, Harry all the way. Consequently, I cannot get a cuddle no matter how hard I try (The poor darling has no attention span for anyone or anything other than Harry).

Meanwhile, Gypsy is ignoring Harry & Lucy. Her intestines have not come into the equation at all. Both dogs paraded through the laundry door this morning on their way to the kitchen (they were typical Labradors on a quest for food). Harry met Gypsy in the hallway, so promtly waddled back totally unconcerned. Obviously, he's met cats before.

The MOTH & I are living life like an audience on the side ...
